Our main concern for our son Pete learning to drive was his confidence. At 9yrs old he was in a car crash and somewhat shaken by it. Rob gave him steady confidence in his ability to drive well; he felt he knew what he was doing and how to handle the car. Pete enjoyed a good rapport with Rob and that all helped to make the lessons enjoyable. One of the main things Pete says he found useful was the ´tone´ of the lessons - he writes: "While serious and focussed, there was never any friction between teacher and learner (which would have been counter-productive)." Commenting that he came to "view mistakes as part of the process and good learning opportunities."
